Window Wanderland (11)

Window Wanderland 2021 Gallery

Salisbury's first Window Wanderland took place from 4th to 7th November 2021.

The magical outdoor gallery saw windows across the city centre decorated and lit from 4.30pm to 10pm each evening.

Window Wanderland was brought to Salisbury by the city vibrancy partnership, which is made up of Salisbury BID, Salisbury City Council and Wiltshire Creative with funding from HSBC and Wiltshire Council.

The majority of the window designs were created through Wiltshire Creative’s Take Part Programme. They worked closely with local community groups and schools to produce the decorations. Over 20 workshops in took place, led by artists Alex Hoare, Michele Millidge, Francesca McLean. Artist Charlotte Moreton also created the designs at Salisbury's Guildhall.

The windows this year were inspired by Diwali, as the festival also began on 4th November. To observe both, there was an evening of traditional Nepalese dance and music at the Guildhall, organised in collaboration with the Nepalese Society of Salisbury. You can read more about them and Diwali here.

A big thank you goes out to all those who took part. We are already looking forward to the next Window Wanderland. If you didn't get to see the windows this year, here's what you missed out on....
